Italiano: Ayrton Senna (n. 1) sorpassa il compagno di scuderia alla McLaren, Alain Prost (n. 2), alla curva Tosa del circuito di Imola, alla ripartenza del Gran Premio di San Marino 1989 di Formula 1. Il brasiliano effettuò ugualmente la manovra sul francese nonostante i due avessero in precedenza convenuto, ai box, di non attaccare colui che alla prima tornata fosse entrato in testa in quella curva: la rottura del patto scatenò la cosiddetta "guerra della Tosa", dando il là definitivo all'accesa rivalità Prost-Senna.
